The 5.6 magnitude quake, centered 7 miles east of Milpitas, registered as just a quick shudder here in Fremont. For those of you still behind on your earthquake preparedness, do check out our earthquake article for tips and and a list of supplies.

Let us know whether you felt the quake and what your reactions were.

Eerily prescient, Vidya. Can you perhaps write next about winning lotteries?
BTW, many thanks for the tips.

I was on a conference call (what else!), and the folks on the other side had to hear me go through the safety drill with the family! Fortunately this wasn’t one of those 2-minute quakes. Once the shaking stopped, I got back to the calls, and the kids back to bathing!

Gaurav,
Aren’t our lives pitifully predictable! I was on a conference call too! Got a lot of unwanted advice from people who were safely in New York and Mumbai!!
