Swati, when you say "this has completely killed the beauty and elegance of this graceful attire", do you mean the bra or the saree? :-)

And not just undershirts. I am sorry to say that bras, more often than not the strapless varieties, have gone on to become fashions accessories to the saree! Call me conservative or old fashioned, but I firmly believe that the sequins and lace not withstanding, this has completely killed the beauty and elegance of this graceful attire. Somewhere along the line boys, and thus girls, have lost their eye for the sensuous and turned boring by virtue of no mystery and plain old ugly. Teenagers in the US of A will hopefully rediscover the romance in a shapely, full sleeved (folded 3/4, of course!) white shirt and blue jeans. Bras worn in, please!

Undershirts are not only for pre-teens and teens. Have older women (50+) tried wearing one of their husband's, on some of the coldest nights we have had. I figured why should I pay for those fashionable Jockey undershirts that cost an arm and leg in the ladies lingerie section. His undershirts provide much needed warmth. The only difference is that unlike the teens, I don't wear them as overshirts.

Congratulations on finding bargains at A&F. Since my teen paid full pop and blew the family clothing budget for his undershirt, I am having to walk around like the emperor. Great article.

Interesting! Did you check the label? Are those undershirts made in India? My husband walks around in his undershirt and I've always objected to it, but now I shall look at it less critically. He's actually in with the crowd! Thanks for a valuable lesson.
