Wow... as I am working on figuring out the move to India. I have gone through everyone of these emotions. Why would I want to do this? What am I thinking? Are you crazy? You can't even drink the water. All of these are questions that either I have asked myself or I have been asked. And your article sums it up very well.

For me it is not moving back, since I have never lived in India, hell I don't even have any Indian history other than my fiance is from there and lives there.

Thank you for you writing

No, the only difference between the two plans is not that one will not raise taxes while the other will do so on the top 5%. An important difference is that the bottom 40% that do not pay taxes will still get a tax "refund," or more aptly defined, a welfare check. It is income redistribution for no other reason than to put $500-$1000 in the pockets of the lower class. Maybe the Obama administration believes that this will stimulate the economy? Hard to imagine.

Here's the India connection to this story. In Coimbatore, a busy industrial town in Tamil Nadu, not far from Bangalore,. pujas (offerings/worship) were held all day for Obama's victory. Someone went to th extent of plotting his horoscope - that's right! - and has been telling people that Obama has a good chance of winning. Just a niggling question: How many of them know anything about his policies? Looks like it doesn't matter!

Folks like Madhavi are the true heroes in our midst. The courage and positive attitude she showed through her battle reminds us of how fortunate we truly are and how important it is to appreciate what we have. Aarti, thank you for writing about her.
